First start

Mac: open the .dmg, drag GSketch to Applications, then right-click it and choose Open the first time. Windows: unzip and run gsketch.exe; if SmartScreen warns, choose More info, then Run anyway. Linux: unpack the archive and run ./gsketch (or ./install.sh to add it to your applications menu).

What is in it

Every tool: lines, arcs, circles, push/pull, Follow Me, Solid Tools, groups and components, dimensions, tags, scenes, section planes and shadows. Open SketchUp's COLLADA (.dae) and STL exports, DXF and SVG drawings; export STL, COLLADA, cut lists and panels for GCarve. Every file on the download page has a checksum in SHA256SUMS.txt.
